Agropoli, Paestum, Palinuro, Acciaroli, Marina di Camerota and Scario.
A holiday cruise in one of our yachts along the Cilento Coast to discover the picturesque towns of Agropoli, Paestum, Palinuro, Acciaroli, and Marina di Camerota. The region is rich in history and it’s coastline is wild and unspoiled: 100’s of miles of white sandy beaches, rocky inlets guarded by medieval watch-towers, cliffs that plunge vertically into the water, spectacular caves and last-but-not-least transparent, blue sea teaming with interesting and variegated sea-life. Needless-to-say, the local cuisine is as delicious as it is varied!
Base: Port of Salerno, Molo Manfredi, Saturday to Saturday.
Saturday: welcome on board with a toast in the afternoon, time to pack your gear away in your cabin, and a quick briefing on the week’s itinerary, the ship’s instruments and the purchase of supplies. 4-hour sail to Agropli where we arrive in the evening. Dinner on board or alternatively a Pizza Agropolese served in straw baskets and a taste of the local Buffalo Mozzarella. After dinner, a walk around the medieval town-centre to admire it’s beautiful architecture and participate in the animated night-life! Overnight stay in the Port of Agropoli.
Sunday: Breakfast on board followed by a relaxing swim in the transparent waters on the Punta Licosa nature reserve were the pine trees meet the white sand of the shoreline. Lunch on board and then a sail to the antique Port of Acciaroli. Arrival in the evening with an aperitif of local red wine and white figs. Dinner on board or alternatively, a fish supper at one of the excellent fish-restaurants that surround the pretty port. After dinner, time to digest with a walk around the small town which bustles with clubs on the seafront and local souvenir shops. Overnight stay in the Port of Acciaroli.
Monday: Breakfast on board and the set sail towards Palinuro. Stop on the way for lunch and a swim in the beautiful blue waters of Baia della Punta, to the North-West of Pioppi. Arrival in the afternoon at Capo Palinuro, time for a relaxing swim, and then on to the tranquil Baia del Buon Dormire for an aperitif at dusk. Dinner on board following by a swim under the starlit sky. Overnight at anchor in the Baia del Buon Dormire.
Tuesday: Breakfast on board followed by a swim at the Arco Naturale and a trip around the caves on the sea including the famous Grotta Azzura. Lunch on board and time for some snorkeling. In the afternoon, a sail in the waters once sailed by the famous Ulysses on the way to Marina Di Camerota where we arrive at dusk. Aperitif and dinner in the Baia degi Infreschi. Overnight stay either at anchor or in the Port with visit to the pretty fishing village.
Wednesday: Breakfast on board, a quick swim and we set sail for Scario. By late morning, after sailing below the peaks of the Cilandrea, we arrive at the Spiaggia dei Francesi – a cove surrounded by golden sand where you can often hear the sound of an acordian coming from an old farmhouse where a shepherd entertains his guests with goat cheese, various hams and salamis, grilled meat and local red wine. After lunch and a cooling swim, we leave for Scario. Arrival at the Port of Scario at dusk and after an aperitif, a visit of the pretty village. Dinner on board or at one of the excellent fish-restaurants on the sea-front. Overnight stay in the port of Scario.
Thursday: Breakfast on board, relaxing swim and then we set sail for San Marco di Castellabate. On the way up the coast, we pass by Pisciotta, where fishing trips can be organized. Stop for lunch and a swim. After lunch we continue up the coast to San Marco di Castellabate, where we arrive at dusk. Aperitif and dinner on board or in one of the local restaurants – famous for their Cilento cuisine. Overnight stay at anchor or in Port.
Friday: After breakfast on board, we sail North-West and stopping for a swim along the beautiful coast. By late morning we reach Paestum for lunch and a visit to the fabulous Greek temples (far better preserved than the more famous Parthenon in Athens). After lunch we set sail for Salerno with arrival in the Port of Salerno in the late afternoon. Dinner on board or alternatively in the medieval town centre followed by a visit to Salerno’s late-night “movida” which is second to none. Overnight stay on board in the Port of Salerno.
Saturday: Breakfast on board. After breakfast, guests are asked to leave the boat by 10.00am.
